When you open a request's detail in your dashboard, the button shown highlighted now follows the resolution your customer asked for —store credit, an exchange or a refund—. Previously «Process refund» was always emphasised, even when the buyer had asked for something else, and your eye was drawn to the wrong action.
What changes
If your customer chose store credit or an exchange when they submitted the request, that is now the button carrying the highlighted colour in the detail. The refund is still there, but it stops dominating the view when it wasn't what was asked for. It's a small change that lines up what you see with what the customer expects and cuts down accidental refunds.
The refund is always available
The «Process refund» button doesn't disappear: it stays one click away on every commercial request, and it becomes enabled at the same moments as always —when the request is approved or received and the refundable amount has been worked out (on an exchange that has already been paid, the way to close the request is to confirm the exchange, not the refund). With this tweak it only loses the visual priority when a different resolution was requested. And if that resolution becomes unavailable —for example, after a downgrade that removes exchanges or store credit— the refund reclaims the spotlight automatically.
Store credit doesn't show on guest orders
Store credit needs a customer account tied to the order. On a guest order, or if the account was deleted after the request, it can't be issued. In those cases the store credit button is no longer shown —it used to be offered and only failed when clicked— and the refund becomes the highlighted action again.
Where you'll see it
In the detail of each request in your Shopify dashboard, within the commercial flow (Pro plan and above). On withdrawal requests the refund remains the highlighted action, as the legal flow requires — and that flow doesn't change.
