Your return rate now shows a real number

In the analytics dashboard (Scale plan), the «Return rate» card stayed blank for lack of a reliable order total. Now returnEasier uses Shopify's real order count as the denominator, so the rate shows an actual percentage for the 30-day range.

In the analytics dashboard, the «Return rate» card no longer stays blank: as of today it shows a real percentage for the 30-day range. returnEasier takes your store's real order count from Shopify and uses it as the denominator.

What changes in the dashboard

Until now, the «Return rate» card in Analytics showed a dash «—» with a «pending order total» note. Now, on the 30-day range, you'll see the computed percentage: your returns divided by the total number of orders for that period.

Where the number comes from

returnEasier internally stores only the orders that have a return, so that data could never be a denominator. What's new is that we now ask Shopify for the real order count of your store for the same date range. That total is the honest basis on which the rate is computed.

When you'll still see «—»

We keep the rule of never showing a number that could mislead:

  • On the quarter and year ranges, your store only reliably exposes recent orders, so we leave the rate as «—» rather than compute it on an incomplete total.
  • If Shopify can't give us an exact count at that moment, you'll also see «—» instead of an approximate percentage.

How to see it

Open Analytics in the returnEasier menu (Scale plan), pick the 30-day range and look at the «Return rate» card. For the full context of the dashboard, see the analytics and alerts guide.
